The Space Bar is your Sustain
or Sustenuto ‘Pedal’.
Hold it down before
releasing a note or
chord and the sound will be continued as you
transition to the next finger
presses. Sustain adds a smoothness
to key-boarding that Mozart was
delighted. He was one of the first composers to annotate his music to reflect
where this pedal should be used.
